Jamaicans.Com Launches Its 20th Anniversary with a Series of Celebratory Events, Starts December 4th, 2015

The popular Jamaican culture website Jamaicans.com launches its 20th anniversary with a series of celebratory events to mark this significant milestone.

The celebrations will take place in Florida and New York in the United States, with the South Florida celebration scheduled for December 4th hosted by Calibe Thompson. The event will start at 6pm at the Grand Palm Resorts located at 110 Grand Palms Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida, 33027.

On December 10th, the celebration heads to the Ripe Jamaican Restaurant in New York at 7:00 pm, hosted by Jamaicans.com contributing writer and long-time community member ‘Jazz’. The Ripe Jamaican Restaurant is owned by famous Chef Nigel Spence who has appeared on NBC, CBS and the Food Network. The venue is located at 151 W Sandford Boulevard, Mount Vernon, NY 10550.

“Jamaicans.com has always been a hub for those who want learn about Jamaica and people who want to stay in touch with their Jamaican roots. “If you live outside of Jamaica and have any Jamaican ancestry you are a part of the diaspora,” said Xavier Murphy, Jamaicans.com founder. “The site has grown rapidly over the past 20 year and technology has changed. Jamaicans.com is a website and media entity covering Jamaica and the Caribbean, and in 20 years has attracted a steady readership among the Jamaican diaspora with 400,000 page views, in addition to 70,000 followers on social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The website provides readers with a steady diet of news, cultural articles, historical information about Jamaica, complete with patois dictionary and shorthand. It was also the first Jamaican company to launch a mobile app on the iPhone.
