The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport is pleased to announce the results from the Grand Final of the 30th Anniversary Jamaica Gospel Song Competition, held on Sunday, July 30 at the National Arena:
• Winner: Shaughna-Lee Steele with “Arise Mighty Warrior”
• 2nd place: Dannareo Fearon with “Order My Steps”
• 3rd Place: Dycinta “Sister Althea” Nunes-Holgate with “Bawl Out”

ABOUT THE WINNER:
Shaughna-Lee Steele
Shaughna-Lee Steele hails from Buff Bay, Portland and describes herself as a cheerful individual who enjoys making people happy, engaging in sporting activities and spending time with family and friends. She is an alumni of the Titchfield High School and at 22 years old has completed a B.Sc. Degree in Geography and is currently pursuing an MPhil Degree in Geography at the University of the West Indies, Mona.
She is a member of the Bybrook Glorious Light Apostolic Temple and has been a Christian for 12 years. Shaughna-Lee has a passion for singing and music.
She has participated in several competitions including the JCDC Festival of the Performing Arts in Music, JCDC Children¹s Gospel Song Competition and the JCDC Big Stage Competition where she received several medals and trophies for her achievements. She hopes to continue her gospel ministry, encouraging persons to come to Christ and to walk steadfastly in His way.
Her single “Arise Mighty Warrior” is an appeal for more soldiers to join her on the battlefield for the Lord.
