The Atlanta Jamaican Association (AJA) recognized Alrene Barr with the 2015 Vin Martin Community Service Award.

A past President of the Atlanta Jamaican Association Inc. (AJA) and Jamaica Honorary Consul to Atlanta, Hon Vin Martin was a Community stalwart and the leader of the community.

In Remembrance of him, an annual community service award is given to an individual who is outstanding in the area of community service, exemplifying the life of Mr. Martin.

Such individual must have earned the recognition, trust and respect of the community and be above and beyond reproach. They must possess a broad based continuing commitment to community, public service, or significant charitable or philanthropic contributions to benefit the community. Recipients of such an award will have positive and inspiring personal attributes, outstanding qualities, such as versatility, flexibility and perseverance towards building links within the community.
