BREAKING THE SILENCE: SEXUALITY & ABUSE IN THE BLACK CHURCH:

A major issue still facing the Christians today is sexuality, yet many black churches, like most religions through the ages, have urged containing it, ignoring it, suppressing it and denying it. This silence is doing a disservice to our communities, and ourselves. We need to Break the silence and change the dialogue.

Join Tonya Joy Bolton for a thought provoking discussion exploring concepts of race, gender, culture & sexuality and what The Church’s Response should be.

Feedback from previous Attendees:

“Tonya shines a spotlight on sexuality as an area of importance not to ignore. Her brilliant acting performance raises many issues, yet her workshops provide a safe place to engage with myths, feelings and concepts that shape participants perception of sexuality and relationships.” Dr. Dulcie Dixon McKenzie:The Queen’s Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education

“It was good to have a forum to talk about sexuality. I have always lived with the history of sexuality being bad but after attending Tonya’s seminar i can now take it into my hands and break free from my past indoctrination.” Steph, Methodist Presbyter

“Tonya’s seminar on sexuality & the church was inspirational…Anyone in the church can become a victim therefore the Church must add its voice to the struggle and play a far greater role instead of being silent.” Rev. Randulph
