The most talented junior soloists, choirs and ensembles from across the island will lift their voices on Sunday, May 29, at the Jamaica Children’s Gospel Song Competition grand final concert.  The concert, being organized by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport will be held at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, 36 Hope Road, Kingston 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. and will see these 24 finalists compete to take home the prestigious national title in their various categories.

According to Stephen Davidson, Director Marketing & Public Relations, “Some remarkable talents were unearthed throughout the journey of this year’s Children Gospel Song Competition, and these finalist are the cream of the crop. From the mouth of babes the audience at the finals concert will be blessed, and the JCDC is honoured to organize this blessing!”

Davidson also noted that each year the competition continues to attract some of the most talented children in Jamaica who compete in the categories Solo, Choir and Ensemble in two age classes, 6-10 years old and 11-15 years.

Not only will the 24 finalists try to out-sing each other for national titles, but they will also be competing to take home cash prizes and trophies from sponsors Chase Fund, Tourism Enhancement Fund, Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation, Grace Frankfurters, Crazy Jim Ice Cream, Love 101 FM, Happy Ice, Jamaica Corporative Credit Union League, This Is Really Great Yogurt, Excelsior, Grace Tropical Rhythms, NCU FM, Sweetie Confectionary, TBC Radio and Lifespan Spring Water.

Admission for the concert is Adults $1000 presold and $1200 at the gate and children under 12 years old $500.  Tickets are available at Sangster’s Bookstores, Bill Express, JCDC Head Office and online at jcdcjamaica.com. There will also be a special guest performance by, the popular Jamaican Gospel group, Perpetual Sounds of Praise.
