MY NAME IS BILL EVANS AND
I AM AN ADVENTURE TRAVELER!
Affectionately known as "BIGGA", I am a Financial
Controller who has forsaken the Corporate world to devote time to
my true love...Jamaica! A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Pennsylvania, I began my Adventure life
by camping out in my back yard all summer well into my teenage years.
After graduating from High School in 1965, I became a Hippie (of
sorts) and wandered around the country visiting all 48 Continental
States hitchhiked coast-to-coast 4 times and lived the obligatory
6 months near Haight Ashbury in San Francisco!
I decided to join the Air Force in 1968 to escape
the Vietnam War (I thought!) as I didn't want to reside in Canada
(too Cold)! I was WRONG! Canada would have made a spendid choice!
I was lucky enough to get stationed in Puerto Rico for 2 years after
a short stay in the Far East ducking and running. My time in Puerto
Rico affirmed my desire to be an "Islander" the rest of my life.
After leaving the Air Force I moved to California,
completed my education and pacified my wanderlust by traveling all
over the world for the next 10 years.
In 1983, I decided to visit Jamaica without any
knowledge of what to expect. That began a love affair that exists
to this day! I have formed an Adventure Travel Co. (AT Jamaica)
and long to live in Jamaica one day.
Forty-three visits and one Jamaican wife later,
I only think of number "Forty Four"!
FAVORITE FOOD:
Escovitch Fish, Brown Stewed anything, Jerk Chicken and Bombay Mangoes!
FAVORITE MUSIC:
"Old School Reggae", Dancehall and most any LIVE music!
HOBBY: Writing
and Meeting new people. Love to help others see the Jamaica I see
everytime I close my eyes and remember.
PET PEEVES:
"ALL INCLUSIVES" and "DO NOT ENTER" signs!
