Day 289 of 365 Things to Do, See & Eat in Jamaica – Go for the Crayfish at Soldier Camp

This hidden restaurant in Port Antonio requires a little effort to find, but is definitely worth it. Get a good map or a local guide to escort you to your host Everol Daley, a Jamaican who served in the US Army, at Soldier’s Camp Bar and Grill, where Jamaican meals are cooked over coal fires. You’ll want to call ahead to ensure you get the fresh crayfish, which are taken from the Rio Grande River nearby. The crayfish are prepared so they are simultaneously sweet and spicy. Yum.
