Day 330 of 365 Things to Do, See & Eat in Jamaica – Visit the Bank of Jamaica’s Money Museum

The Bank of Jamaica’s Money Museum in Kingston offers exhibits and displays that tell the story of money and how it developed in Jamaica and around the world. There are many numismatic pieces on display along with the artifacts that help to recreate the historical background of the pieces through time. Visitors also learn about how coins are made. About counterfeiting, and ways of “looking after money.” The island’s history is told through its money from the times of Taino trading and glass beads and pieces of eight through credit cards, pounds, shillings, and dollars. The museum offers a fascinating guided tour that’s well worth taking.
