Falcon and Thomson will begin offering direct flights from Dublin to Jamaica in June 2016. Visitors from Ireland will be able to enjoy the many unique features of the island in addition to the traditional elements of tropical seas, sunshine, and reggae. The lack of direct flights from Ireland to the Caribbean has been an obstacle for tourists until now. Travelers have previously been required to make a stop-over in the United Kingdom, increasing travel time. With the direct flights, flying time is only nine hours from Dublin, which makes the voyage comparable to a trip to Orlando, Florida. The shorter travel time is expected to encourage more Irish tourists to visit Jamaica in the future.
