The Andrew Dixon Foundation will be holding two baseball camps in Jamaica during August of 2016. The camps will teach the fundamentals of baseball including (1) hitting, (2) throwing, (3) running bases, and more. The camps are scheduled for August 1-6 in Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth and August 8-13 in Negril, Westmoreland. The team is also looking to schedule a few camps in Kingston. Jamaican Andrew Dixon is a former professional baseball player who played for the San Francisco Giants in the United States. He founded the nonprofit organization to develop self- esteem and motivate youth through the experiences and lessons obtained through playing baseball. Since its creation in 2010, the foundation has developed baseball throughout Jamaica’s primary schools, certifying and teaching physical education teachers about the game of baseball.
