Senior Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator
Responsibilities
Responsible for the design and implementation of a SQL server
2000 database system given current database functionality and
functional design specifications. Will interact with technical
and business staff to confirm database requirements, draft clear
and concise documentation, conduct through systems testing and
provide post implementation support. Will resolve database performance,
capacity, replication and system maintenance issues. Develope
database backup and recovery procedures. Assist developers in
the creation of efficient queries and stored procedures.
The skills you will need
Experience in designing large enterprise database
systems (min. 5 years experience). Must have experience in database
modeling and CASE tools. Experience in data conversion from legacy
systems. Knowledge and experience in object oriented design practices.
Experience in maintenance and fine tuning of large database systems.
Excellent communications skills, must be able to interact with
technical and business staff to obtain database design requirements
and specifications. Travel industry experience preferred.
BS/BA in Computer Science preferred. MCDBA preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will be responsible for assisting
in the design and development of a .NET / SQL server application.
Perform application analytical activities, coding, debugging and
testing for assigned modules/functions according to software development
lifecycle processes. Assist in the creation of program documentation
and help system. Will participate in the creation of customized
reports utilizing Crystal Reports.
May work closely with the project manager in assisting in the
preparation of project plans and detailed business, technical
and design specifications based on requirements identified through
working closely with technical and business counterparts.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS :
* Must possess VB.NET and MS SQL Server skills
as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Knowledge of an object oriented language such as C++ (minimum
5 years experience).
* Direct implementation and execution of new/upgraded information
systems via well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines,
and accountability.
* Crystal Reports experience preferred.
* Relational database programming experience.
Must have participated in full project life
cycle and have the ability to write maintainable code following
object oriented techniques. Travel industry experience preferred.

* High School Diploma/GED required.
* A minimum of 2 years customer service/sales experience is required.
