JAMAICAN WOMEN WIN BRONZE IN 4×200 AT WORLD RELAYS—05/02/15
The Jamaican women’s team took the bronze medal for the 4×200-meter competition at the World Relays Championships in the Bahamas. It was the first medal for Jamaica in 2015 at the Championships. The team included Shericka Williams, Sherone Simpson, Samantha Henry-Robinson, and Veronica Campbell-Brown.

JAMAICA WINS OLYMPIC QUALIFIER IN BEACH VOLLEYBALL—05/03/15
The Jamaican beach volleyball teams overcame the Cayman Islands in the final of the CAZOVA Women’s Beach Volleyball Olympic Qualifier in Ocho Rios Bay Beach. The teams, which comprised Kai Wright and Danielle Perry and Alicia Malcolm and Sashless Wallen, showed considerable determination and took the prize from the Caymans in the Golden Set tie-breaker.

JAMAICAN MEN WIN GOLD IN 4×200 AT WORLD RELAYS—05/05/15
The Jamaican men’s 4×200-meter men’s team won the gold medal at the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas. The team, which consisted of Nickel Ashmeade, Rasheed Dwyer, Jason Livermoore, and Warren Weir, survived a shaky experience in the second pass of the baton to win with a time of 20.97 seconds.

POWELL WINS IN GUADELOUPE MEET—05/06/15
Jamaica’s Asafa Powell, a former world record holder, was victorious in the men’s 100-meter competition at an invitational event in Guadeloupe. Powell was attempting to make the first under-ten-second finish of 2015, but ultimately fell short of that goal with a time of 10.08 seconds.
