Jamaican Girl Scores Highest GCE Maths Grade in the World

Achsah Wildish of Jamaica, a sixth-form student at British West Indies Collegiate (BWIC) in Turks and Caicos, has been named the “Top in the World” by the Cambridge International Examination Board for her achievements in Advanced Subsidiary-Level mathematics. Anthony Wilkinson, the vice-principal of the school, said the Jamaican born Wildish not only had a 100-percent score in the examinations, but has “topped the world” in maths. Daughter of John Wildish, a well-known building contractor in Jamaica, did not know she had attained the top score until her name was called. The announcement was a “big surprise” to her.
