JCDC Now Accepting Entries for 2016 Competitions

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an Agency of the Ministry of Youth and Culture is currently accepting entries for all competitions for the 2016 Festival season.

The competitions now open for entry are: the National Festival of the Performing Arts ( areas include: speech, drama, music, traditional folk forms and dance and deaf dance), the Jamaica Gospel Song Competition, the Jamaica Children’s Gospel Song Competition, the Jamaica Festival Song Competition, the World Reggae Dance Championship the Jamaica Creative Writing Competition & Exhibition, the Visual Arts Competition, The Big Stage, the Culinary Arts Competition and the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition.

These competitions are open to individuals, schools, community groups, youth clubs, social clubs, performing arts clubs and church groups.

According to JCDC Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Stephen Davidson, the JCDC’s various competitions continue to create several opportunities for creative and culturally aware Jamaicans “The opportunities are priceless and life changing; the competitions offer attractive prizes including cash incentives, trophies, gift packages in addition to being a part of the JCDC Brand”.

Entry forms, rules and other details for these competitions are available online at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) website at www.jcdc.gov.jm, at the JCDC Head Office located at 3-5 Phoenix Avenue, Kingston 10 and all JCDC parish offices island-wide.
