This week we interview Jevaughn Porter Mr. Teen Jamaica 2012. He is one of the 2 delegates that will represent Jamaica in the Mr. Teen United Nations 2012 held in Florida. Here is our conversation with Jevaughn.

I am 16 years old
What school do you attend?
I attend Meadowbrook High School
How did you get started in Modelling?
I got started modelling when my friends and family members suggested that I look like a model and I should try out for modelling. I started by trying out at a modelling agency and continued my work from there which hopefully in the future I will be successful in participating in international campaigns which is one of my main goals.
What do you enjoy most about modeling?
What I enjoy most is being in the spotlight, I love when the camera lens and all eyes are on me. I love photography especially when the subject is me, Its also allows me to express my self and be who I am.
How did it feel when they made the announcement that you won Mr. Teen Jamaica?
The feeling was overwhelming, I had a lot of confidence that I would get the title as I had faith in my self and God, it was hard work paid off after all.
Is there a platform for the Mr. Teen United Nations 2012? What is your platform?
Yes there is a platform, my platform is Promoting Education, far too much children have grown up illiterate, and I have experienced while growing up that people I sit beside in class are illiterate, and I believe its about time this comes to an end and by promoting education will help resolve this problem.
Do you have any other talents we are going to be hearing about in the future?
I aim to be a jack of all trades, so there are a lot of other talents you can look forward to seeing such as fields in the performing arts such as dancing.
A phrase you use far too often?
“Be yourself and not someone else”
How would you describe your own personal style?
I would describe my own personal style as modeled off the appeal of simplicity with a variation of eccentricity which expresses my mood and feelings.
In a nutshell, your philosophy is?
My philosophy is that everyone is capable of doing anything just as long as they put in a lot of hard work and dedication, it is your conception of life and its activities, my own is that success is inevitable.
