JOB TITLE: Legal Officer

LOCATION:  National Health Fund, Kingston

DESCRIPTION: Provide legal support, guidance and services to the National Health Fund to assist in the achievement of its strategic objectives and the implementation of its policy initiatives; Represent the Company on legal issues.

QUALIFICATIONS: Attorney-at-Law admitted to practice law in Jamaica; Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB); Certificate in Legal Education; Have a minimum of three years working experience as a practicing Attorney in a Civil Law environment or any equivalent combination of education and experience; Knowledge of the National Health Fund Act; Thorough knowledge of corporate and tax law; Knowledge of the Companies Act; Knowledge of the Public Bodies Management & Accountability Act; Knowledge of the Financial Administration and Audit Act; Ability to provide legal advice to the CEO and the Board; Ability to mediate and achieve consensus; Detail-oriented and flexible; Computer literacy and an appreciation of relevant computer applications
