JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator

LOCATION:  First Global Bank, Kingston

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and related infrastructure; Responsible for ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards for efficiency, reliability and security; Performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups and replication; Installing or upgrading servers and configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational/policy requirements; Establishing systems to ensure systems recovery capability consistent with FGB’s Recovery Time (RTO) and Recovery Point (RPO) objectives; Applying OS patches and upgrades on the prescribed schedule, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities; Performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization as required; Assisting with the development, testing and implementation of new/enhanced hardware and network solutions to meet user requirements according to policies, procedures, and controls, changing circumstances, and existing inefficiencies.

QUALIFICATIONS: First Degree in Computer Studies or equivalent industry certification with at least four (4) years’ experience in a similar position; Extensive knowledge and experience administering UNIX systems specifically AIX and/or Red Hat Linux; Expertise in the support and administration of Windows servers, workstations and networking in physical and virtual environments with specific emphasis on Active Directory and VMware; Experience in the administration of Apache based application servers- specifically WebLogic; Good presentation and communication skills; written and verbal; Willingness to work beyond normal operating hours to get the job done; High level of initiative and flexibility; Team-oriented and self-motivated; Excellent “customer service” attitude; Desirable training/certifications: IBM Certified AIX Administrator is a plus, CCNA certification,  Windows Server Certification, VMWare.
