JOB TITLE: Systems Operators

LOCATION:  National Irrigation Commission Limited, Mid-Clarendon, Rio Cobre; New Forest/Duff House and Yallahs Irrigation Districts

DESCRIPTION: Monitoring and record the delivery of irrigation water to customers from conveyance systems; Report problems related to the water distribution systems; Manage customer relations; Knowledge of irrigation infrastructure and system functions; Be able to take and record meter readings and calculate water volumes supplied to customers; Submits written reports to Works Superintendent on issues related to assigned responsibilities; Administers assigned irrigation system to ensure necessary routine tests and recordings are carried out as per established schedule; Executes mitigation strategies before natural disasters to safeguard property and reduce damage to irrigation infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS: Secondary/Vocational School graduate, preferably with training in Agriculture from HEART Trust/NTA or any other recognized institution; Two-years experience in irrigation works or meter reading; A minimum of five (5) CXC subjects inclusive of Mathematics and English Language; Computer applications such as Microsoft Word and spreadsheet applications.
