"May-December"

“May-December” romance,
“Huh!” She shuddered at a glance,
A little voice within her said, “Give love a chance!”
Who says they have nothing in common,
They both take pepto bismol and love to play backgammon,

Will she still love him when she’s sixty-four?
As long as he continues to open the door,
And she never turns into a big bore,
Isn’t that what unconventional romances were made for?
To have someone you truly adore,
One too old and tired to keep score,
The other, too young and cheery,
Perhaps a little unsure,
After all, that is, the ultimate allure.
