The annual Tarrus Riley and Friends Concert was held on December 20th at what has become its usual venue, Emancipation Park. The theme for this year was an aptly selected theme; ‘A Crime Free Christmas’ .
The annual concert concept was developed by guitarist Lamont ‘Monty’ Savory and Tarrus Riley. According to Monty, the idea was to assist inner city children who are involved with music, to purchase equipment in an effort to keep them off the streets. The concert is free and according to Tarrus Riley, is a way of giving back to the community that has supported them over the years.
Among the artistes who performed in support of the worthy cause were Stephen Marley, Beres Hammond, Tessane Chin,Romain Virgo, Queen Ifrica, Tony Rebel, Iba Mahr, Agent Sasco, Kabaka Pyramid and many more. The event was produced by the collaborative effort of Juke Boxx Productions and Monty’s Productions
