I suspect that when most people think of Jamaica, it’s usually which resort should I stay at or where are the best beaches? Well if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, you may want to keep reading 🙂
I’ve taken you to the local Farmers Market, but now how about the ultimate dining experience?? We are travelling 3,500 feet above sea level to EITS Cafe (pronounced “eats”), which is an abbreviation for “Europe In The Summer” located approximately 17 miles from Kingston (about a 40 minute drive). This quaint little family-owned restaurant is a favourite for visitors who are looking for a more immersive experience in Jamaican culture over a beautiful fusion of European and Jamaican cuisine.
This hidden gem was a short taxi ride along a winding road from Strawberry Hill resort where we were staying for a couple of nights. I was immediately mesmerized when the taxi pulled up, so I had to go exploring of course! This enchanting restaurant is surrounded by lush tropical plants and because of its mountain-edge location, we enjoyed amazing vista views of the Blue Mountains over dinner, not to mention one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to eat here and I have to thank my big sis for recommending it! I had a chance on the way out to meet the owners and they are so nice. This place will have a special place in my heart and I highly recommend you give it a try!
Now for my #OOTN (outfit of the night for all you non-hashtaggers out there)! lol I wore my preppy pink shorts with a skinny brown belt and paired it with a cute little v-neck camisole. These kind of shorts can be worn with a solid-coloured button down, but I wanted to make it a little more fun and flirty this evening! Plus it got pretty humid when the sun popped out just after it had rained, so I was glad to have slipped on something a little lighter! This cute ruffled cami was light and airy and practically danced with each step 🙂 And my white high heel sandals from TopShop were the perfect finisher to this casual outfit for my dinner date in the hills 🙂
People ask how can a Jewish kid from the Bronx do preppy clothes? Does it have to do with class and money? It has to do with dreams. – Ralph Lauren
