Jamaica Travel Advice Q & A: We would like to take public transportation from the airport in Kingston to Treasure Beach being our tight budget.

We asked our facebook fans to help answer a question submitted to us by email: A friend & I (both white, young & female) are traveling to Jamaica in 5 weeks and need your advice. We are pretty well traveled & used to taking the budget route. We are very mindful of safety. We would like to take public transportation from the airport in Kingston to Treasure Beach being our tight budget. Is this possible or is hiring a private driver best?

T.Williams  – I would hire a private driver. I am happy to recommend one. He will stop for lunch where you want. Kingston to Treasure Beach is a long one, so you want a bit of comfort and a reliable driver.

M. Brown – I think a private driver is best, youmay not know what can happen while in a public transportation.

A. Basinger – JUTA bus charters will take singles or a couple if on a regular route.

P. Brown – Public transportation no. Do not attempt. Private driver but probably very expensive

K. Superior – I understand just take a bus from Kingston that’s going to Westmoreland then ask the driver to let you off @ the Treasure beach taxi stand its right on the main road to Westmoreland, Jamaica is not all bad have fun and God be with you that way you will experience the true Jamaica.

C. Young-Deyette – Call or email Treasure Tours and arrange for one of their drivers to pick you up!

L. Whyte – I agree to take a private transportation!!!! It’s best to use an established company such as treasure tours. I’ve never used them so don’t forget do your research before booking. Not just because it’s a foreign country. I’m a New Yorker and if I was going to L.A for the first time I would do my research. Blessings and enjoy my beautiful country!
