St Andrew Parish Foundation stages 2nd Operatic Concert -Festum Sancti Andreae, October 3, 2015

The St Andrew Parish Foundation (SAPF) stages its second annual Gala Musical Evening, Festum Sancti Andreae, on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. on the lawns of King’s House.

Canada-based Jamaican tenor, Paul Williamson, and Canadian soprano, Allison Arends, accompanied by Jamaica’s Roger N. Williams on piano, set the standard for this calendar event in last year’s gala concert where music lovers enjoyed selections from operas by classical composers interspersed with interesting selections of Peter Ashbourne-arranged Jamaican folk songs.

This year’s concert will again feature Paul Williamson and Allison Arends and they will be joined by two other noted operatic singers: Jamaican soprano, Lori Burnett; and Canadian mezzo-soprano, Kathleen Promane. These talented operatic performers will render selections from light and grand operas, favourite stage shows and local folk songs, and the accomplished Roger N. Williams will once again be on piano for this delightful evening of musical entertainment.

This fundraising event is in keeping with the SAPF’s vision for social uplift and community transformation, which includes the building of social enterprises in under-served communities.

SAPF focuses on children.  The Foundation is raising funds to expand the church’s seven well-established outreach projects in health care, education, skills training, care for senior citizens, street boys, needy persons in the Half Way Tree area, and providing a safe home environment for  young girls.
