Strictly the Best The Longest Running Reggae Compilation Series Volumes 52 & 53 Will Be Released on December 11, 2015

It is that time of year again. On December 11th, VP Records unleashes Volumes 52 & 53 of reggae’s longest running compilation series Strictly The Best.

The 2015 edition of Strictly the Best features 28 of the hottest tracks in dancehall, roots and lovers rock by reggae’s top stars as well asĀ  emerging talent. This year’s annual release includes notable exclusive tracks including Gyptian’s “All On Me (Diztortion Remix)”Ā  featuring UK grime artist Lady Leshurr. The DJ Spooky and Apple Juice Kid produced “Go Go (Sound Pirates Remix)” by leading dancehall diva Spice and crooner Christopher Martin’s “Helpless (SOS).” Some of the genre’s biggest collaborations are also featured like Eddie Murphy & Beenie Man on “Wonna Deez Nights,” Toian & Vybz Kartel on “Ice Queen” and breaking dancehall star Dexta Daps & Tifa on “Jealous Ova.”

Renowned graphic artist Kristina Collantes – who has designed for the Flaming Lips, OK GO, Warner Bros. Records, GQ and The New Yorker – has created the cover art illustration, another trademark for the brand.

In celebration of the annual compilation and its ongoing original cover art design, VP Records will celebrate sponsor a special event at this year’s Art Basel in Miami. On December 6th, featured artist Spice and Jesse Royal will perform atĀ  Silent Addy and Reid Waters’ 10th edition of their Sunday afternoon bashment session, Miami Vice Episode. The event is also held in conjuction with LargeUp.com and there will be mutliple DJs including Eccentrix Sound (MIA), Ape Drums (Houston), Chromatic Sound (JA), Black Chiney (MIA), Reid Waters (MIA), Don Hot (MIA), Sinistar (Trinidad), Electric Punanny(NY), DJ Gravy and Micro Don (NY), Yaadcore (JA), Corey Chase (MIA) and Disco Neil (MIA).

Additionally, the New York launch for the compilation includes a series of Strictly the Best themed events with notable DJs like Bobby Konders & Jabba, Steelie Bashment, Platinum Kids and DJ Norie for WWPR and DJ Gringo from Sirius XM.
