Day 23 of 365 Things to Do, See & Eat in Jamaica – Visit the Lighthouse in Negril

Just the thing from all the hard work of relaxing on the beach…The lighthouse was built in 1884 off the coast of Negril and is one of the first concrete lighthouses constructed. The 66-foot-tall tower is kept balanced and secure in case of earthquake by a water tank 14 feet deep. The lighthouse operates with an automatic white light located 100 feet above sea level. The light flashes every two seconds. On most days, the caretaker will take you to the top to enjoy the view.

In case you missed any of the past “365 Things to Do, See and Eat in Jamaica“, here they are all together.
