Blass to Go All out with “Eyes on Me”

The moment Jamaican dancehall artist BLASS came out of the studio booth after putting the finishing touches to his new track “Eyes On Me”, both him and Reeko Don the producer thought, this could be a hit record. With that in mind, BLASS instantly called his manager and told him “We should go all out with this one!”

BLASS who is known mostly for “What A Gal Know Fi Wine”, a collaboration he did with the currently incarcerated dancehall sensation Vybz Kartel, and longtime friend Slash, has been staying below the radar, collaborating mostly with international artists and groups. Since 2014 however, after putting together his new management team, BLASS decided to stamp his image on the Jamaican scene. It is with this mindset that he met emerging dancehall producer Reeko Don, with whom he crafted “Eyes On Me”.

“When Reeko gave me the riddim, I thought I wanted to record something fresh, a track that flows differently from what is often heard over the airwaves,” BLASS said, and that he did. Opening with some singing, BLASS went off into his clearly pronounced, lyrical bars about lust, sex and attraction; done in a near mesmerizing style, yet bouncy enough to probably force the female listeners to wine and gyrate to it. “This song is fit for the bedroom, a joy ride and definitely for the hyped club; that was how it was created,” BLASS adds.

Being no newcomer to the dancehall space, BLASS knows very well the competitive nature and constantly shifting dynamics of the industry; especially whenever it comes to marketing. And with this track and upcoming projects, he will leave no stones unturned in order to prove his musical artistry, primarily to his Jamaican fanbase, then the world over. “This marks my first step to secure my Jamaican fanbase, over the past years I have drifted mostly towards international projects, but now I am focused on marketing my craft with the raw Jamaican vibe. It comes at a rather challenging times with so many talented artists emerging trying to catch the attention of the dancehall massive. But I believe with my solid team, our commitment to create quality dancehall music and my next steps forward; I can have all eyes on me – pun intended,” he said.

“Eyes On Me” is distributed by Florida based Reggae and dancehall digital distributors Zojak Worldwide, and will be available worldwide via iTunes and other digital music platforms, as of May 26th. The video for the track is currently in post-production and will be premiered in early June; so look out for that.
