BREAKING BARRIERS – From the shores of Montego Bay to the House of Commons England’s first female bishop to be honored in Los Angeles

The Reverend Prebendary Rose Hudson-Wilkin, holding the historic title as the 79th Chaplain to the Speaker of the House of Commons as well as to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, will be honored by the Jamaican Community in Los Angeles on August 2, 2015. Reverend Hudson-Wilkin is the first woman and first person of colour to serve in her capacity as chaplain and will be the recipient of the Jamaica Cultural Alliance (JCA) Trail Blazer Award.

The Biltmore Millenium in downtown Los Angeles is fittingly the setting for High Tea where the presentation will take  place.

The JCA Trailblazer Award is given to individuals blazing trails and setting high Standards for those of Caribbean Culture and History.

Jamaica Cultural Alliance is a Los Angeles based non-profit organization with the objective of expanding and enriching knowledge and awareness of Jamaican culture, history and heritage.
