Day 138 of 365 Things to Do, See & Eat in Jamaica – Reaching for the Falls

Reach Falls offer some of the island’s most beautiful and peaceful waterfall scenery. Located in the Montana Forest of the John Crow Mountains, take an easy hike through the tropical rainforest to the top of the falls. Lifeguard patrols ensure everyone’s safety, so you can stand under the cascades of water as they gush forth, explore underwater caves, and swim in emerald rock pools fringed by 23 species of ferns. The falls were discovered by runaway slaves from St. Thomas as they looked for refuge in the mountains. Reach Falls was the location for the Tom Cruise movie “Cocktail” and the remake of the film “Lord of the Flies.”

In case you missed any of the past “365 Things to Do, See and Eat in Jamaica“, here they are all together.
