On the south coast of Jamaica near Treasure Beach is the spectacular Lovers Leap, a place you must see to believe. This 1,700-foot cliff rises up over the sea, and it is said that two lovers secretly met here during the colonial slave days at nearby Yardley Chase Plantation. Because lovers were property of the plantation’s owner who did not want them to marry; rather than be separated, they held hands and jumped to their death from the cliff here.
