When it comes to religion and the clergyman he is right, but his concept of God is erroneous.....which brings us back to what I posted earlier.

No....scripture says he does it himself
And since it exist then it must be because he allows it.

shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?

If God is both able and willing to annihilate evil...How does evil still exist?

Evil exist because God allows it.

    I have Answered your question.

Is ridiculous......Epicurus was an ancient Greek Philosopher(b341bc-d270bc)...Wrote this

Epicurus probable had or held a Greek concept of God

God, either wishes to take away evils, and is unable; or He is able, and is unwilling; or He is neither willing nor able, or He is both willing and able. If He is willing and is unable, He is feeble, which is not in accordance with the character of God; if He is able and unwilling, He is
envious, which is equally at variance with God; if He is neither willing nor able, He is both envious and feeble, and therefore not God; if He is both willing and able, which alone is suitable to God, from what source then are evils? Or why does He not remove them?

    Amos 3:6
Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?

    Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

    1 Samuel 16:14
But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.
