• would you move house now?

mi vindictive landlords decide seh dem a add on $125/mth to mi rent caw mi seek mi owna remedy fi di hornet and never juss live wid it i guess

that's $1500 more over the year . but none a di amenities naw change. mi mek nuff compromises fi di cheap rent i was paying:

1. none a di room dem nuh have closets (mi have a likkle bit inna di hallway upstairs and none downstairs)
2. di 2 "room" dem inna di attic have very low ceiling (cyaan put on u shirt without touch the ceiling - even if u just 5 ft 2. as a matter of fact, u can ongle stand straight inna di miggle a di room, it slope to waist height as u move to the wall. and again, no closet.
3. di room dem small. i had to buy beds to fit them. can ongle hold a queen bed and side tables. mi king bed inna di garage fi 2 years mi live yah.
4. di most dangerous ting is di stairs weh very steep , very narrow and of uneven height (mi always haffi warn visitors and mi move downstairs caw mi nuh waan drop while pregnant)
5. di house is 100 years old - oil heat, no garbage disposal
6. wasp a come thru holes inna di ceiling which precipitated dis whole situation

it quaint, cute and relatively comfy and mi cuda live wid it fi wat mi was paying but dem vindictive and if mi a go pay dat much mi may as well get decent landlords and a more comfortable house

but mi have 38 days till bubba born and 3 days fi gi dem mi 30-day notice /0\

what a crawsiss

hmm..i don't think that i would move 30 days before delivery...maybe look to move a couple months after..

I have the same question as gen as to how him change the rent in the middle of the lease...or is the new lease u talking bout that start soon?

ok assuming that is a new lease, that's a tough call. As gen seh the place doan sound child friendly with the stairs and bubba gwine be crawling/walking up and down those stairs.

can u realistically find somewhere and pack and unpack and all it entails in that short amount of time?

i would be happy to move to a new place and have a few rooms set up by the time bubba born. mi family and community here would help get di rest sort out or mi wuda juss hire smaddy. mi feel mi wuda in a better mental state fi welcome mi boy in dis world rather than bring him to a situation weh mi juss bringle

Moving is one of the most stressful event in anyone's life. It is not advisable for someone so far gone in their pregnancy.

Cutting off yuh nose to spite yuh face: Moving would be 'showing' your landlord, but it would actually be harder on you and the baby.

Still and all, I woulda done it. In a heartbeat.

1. getting the depost back is not a done deal - improvements you made may not be improvements in the eye of the landlord

2. i have never moved and not bought anything - a shower curtain, curtains, something fresh for my new place - or something old doesn't quite work in the new place

3. does the lawyer cost money? getting one smaddy to help costs money

4. you know what you have - new place - well . . .
