Well, it's about time I finished this chapter in my book of nonsense. Had a few days to decompress and then continued my journey west toward the land of the moss people. Took a few pics of Helena before I left. Nice white bread town that used to be a bit filthy with money. I was a bit uncomfortable because I found few people that would actually make eye contact with someone they hadn't seen before. I've been away from the "city" for too long, I guess. Down toward old town:

The state capitol. State reps hand out candy in there. For real.

Got an early start at 7:30am with the plan to make it to another friends house at Lk. Chelan, Wa. I have a penchant for calling people I haven't seen in a while, especially if they have nice homes, and asking them if they have a spare bed that i can crash in. (I'm not that bad...I usually give a day's warning!)
Up over a pass just west of Helena:

Wallace, Idaho. Well known in late history for it's women of ill repute and hard working miners.

Just west of Spokane, Wa. on Hwy 2 in the wheatfields of eastern Washington. This state is divided by the Cascade Mts. in both climate and politics. For those who still believe in politicians and stuff, Republican/rural/agriculture on the east side...Democratic megalopolis dwellers on the soggy west side.

after a few hours of traversing wheatfields, this gluten intolerant traveller dropped off the plateau into the Chelan valley.

Pulled into Al's complex- House and separate guest casita on the right, garage and offices on the left with an orchard behind that. Al is another cancer survivor (barely), and while he has a lot...it's all comes well after being alive and breathing...and his children, one of which is "special". Same situation in Helena. (see a pattern? )

Left early the next morning after sharing a few cups of coffee. Maggie got lots of attention and gained another 6 lbs.
Had to make it across the Cascades to the Turdfarm by noon to meet the propane guy, who was going to reconnect stuff and check everything out so I wouldn't blow the place up. One last glimpse at Chelan:

You know you are in New Mexico when you see a sign like this, except that it's been perforated with at least a dozen bullet holes.

Leavenworth, at the foot of the mountains. A pseudo Bavarian tourist trap with a different festival every weekend except in Oktober-fest till you drop. It's criminal, I tell ya! Pandering to stupidity.

See??!!!! It's a crime scene. Closed for investigation!

Ran out of battery after this shot. Green stuff everywhere, tall and thick.
