Making and inventing you own toys. Like taking a Cremo carton or juice box and cutting it into the shape of a truck then taking bottle stops to make wheels. Or cutting up the garden hose that you told your mother someone stole and making a wheel by putting a stick in one end joining the two ends. Then taking the hanger out of the closet to form and wire. This is what we called WHEEL and WIRE. With WHEEL and WIRE we could make races, do jumps and perform tricks. Our parents didn’t have to spend big money on toys like today.

Jamica to me is this exotic island of beautiful people, food, music and culture. It is an island of paradise. My closest neighbout was this wonderful Jamacian lady who loved Jesus with all her heart ( and is know with Him). She wasn’t wealthy by any means but that did not stop her from offering my family the world, everything she had was ours too. She’d offer us food and money and wouldn’t let us say no to her. She loved Jamaica, her home; I felt bad that she had to live here. To me she represents Jamaica and the love the people have for God, for each other, for music, for life: “one love”

Then find a vendor who a sell fry fish an bammy, some festival, red stripe beer and have him just cater to you and yours. Then you go for a swim, come out a the water and eat again. Then when evenin come you find a session, then fine a nice brethren fi dance wid an lock dung wid him whole nite in a one corner.
