JOB TITLE: General Manager
LOCATION:Â TIP Friendly Society, Kingston
DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the overall successful performance of operations of the Society in accordance with client service, membership, and financial imperatives mandated by the Board of Directors; Growing the service portfolio, client base and retention rate; Increasing and sustaining profitability; Leading the industry in service quality practices and standards and efficiency ratios; Developing and sustaining effective working relationships with government, regulatory bodies and the business community; Building and sustaining a strong and highly motivated Team; Innovating new products and systems to create and sustain market leadership; Managing risks within minimal margins of exposure; Executing policy decisions expeditiously
QUALIFICATIONS: MBA in Finance, Banking, Business Administration or equivalent qualification; A minimum of ten (10) years post qualification experience in the financial /Insurance services industry with six (6) years at the executive level; Training/experience in industrial relations would be an asset; Exceptional working knowledge of the Cooperative Insurance and Commercial Banking industry; In-depth insight into the dynamics of the Jamaican economy and business community; Some understanding of the Teaching Profession and of Jamaican Teachers generally; Working knowledge of the regulatory standards in the Jamaican financial sector and Cooperative Movement; Excellent risk assessment/management and corporate governance skills; Experience in underwriting; Outstanding talent for innovation to compete successfully; Excellent strategic planning, decision-making and coordinating skills; Excellent human and public relations leadership and marketing skills; Excellent verbal/written communication skills; Strong conceptual and analytical abilities; Excellent leadership/team building skills; Clean financial history
