Jamaican Romae Carla Bianca Smith, 19, has been awarded a six-week training and internship at Columbia University through its Mallman School of Public Health. Smith, who is a junior at the University of Florida, is majoring in mathematics with a minor in statistics. She previously attended Immaculate Conception High School, where she excelled. In 2009, Smith moved to Florida, graduating from Keysgate Charter School in 2014. She belongs to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and is was named to the President’s Honor Roll as an honor student in the spring of 2015.
