1000 Pairs of Overshoes Donated: Regional Director of the Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), Mr. Michael Bent receives a pack of overshoes from FLOW Foundation’s Executive Assistant, Ms. Shelly-Ann O’Connor on Tuesday, June 20 at the Mandeville Regional Hospital in Manchester. The Foundation handed over 1000 pairs of overshoes to the Southern Regional Health Authority.SRHA Regional Director, Mr. Michael Bent explained that overshoes are protective coverings worn by surgical personnel working in a sterile environment in order to minimize contamination and with 12 active
operating theatres within the SRHA health facilities and over 12, 000
surgeries performed annually, the Authority welcomes the needed items. He added that the donation will definitely make an impact as it will boost the Authority’s supplies of the critical items.Ms. O’Connor noted that though the FLOW Foundation has as its pillars of support, education and youths at risk, its decision to donate the protective coverings to the Authority is a pleasure and delight. She added that it cannot be the sole responsibility of the government to support healthcare as healthcare affects every citizen.
