The Top 10 Damian Marley Songs

Damian Robert Nesta Marley, also known as “Jr. Gong”, is a reggae musician from Jamaica. He is the youngest son of the legendary Jamaican musician “Bob Marley” and was two years old when his father died. His moniker “Junior Gong” comes from his father’s nickname “Tuff Gong”. Damian started his career at the age of 13 and has produced music in the reggae, reggae fusion, roots reggae, and hip hop genre. Throughout his musical career, he has worked as a deejay, rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer.

Starting out in 1992, he formed a band named “The Shephards” that included son of Third World’s Cat Core and the daughter of Freddie McGregor. The first featured in the 1992 Reggae Sunsplash festival but later in the ‘90s the band broke up and Damian continued with his solo career. He went on to release his debut album “Mr. Marley” in 1996 with his father’s label “Tuff Gong” that won him the praise of many. He then released his second album “Halfway Tree” that earned his further recognition and his career got to an amazing start. Up till now, he has produced outstanding music and has associated acts with “Bob Marley”, Ziggy Marley, Stephen Marley, Bruno Mars, Skrillex, and Jay Z.
