Learn how to make coconut curry venison (deer) in this episode of Tasty Tuesday’s with Chris De La Rosa of CaribbeanPot.com We’ll start off by seasoning the venison in a classic Caribbean marinade, then we’ll toss it in a curry base, before slowing braising everything in a rich, spicy coconut curry sauce.
This is very close to the traditional way of cooking ‘game’ curry in the Caribbean. Tender, perfectly seasoned and very tasty overall.
Here’s what you’ll need for this curry deer recipe…
3 lbs Venison
1 heaping tablespoon Caribbean Green Seasoning
2 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon Curry Powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 slices ginger
1 tomato
1/2 small onion
5 cloves garlic
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cups coconut milk
2 scallion
3 sprigs thyme
1 scotch bonnet pepper
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
5 allspice berries
Cilantro or Shado Beni garnish
