Elaine Thompson is “very pleased” with her 200m silver medal performance at the XV IAAF World Championships here at the Bird Nest Stadium on Friday.

“I am very, very pleased,” said Thompson after the women’s 200m final.

She became the 2nd fastest Jamaican (behind Merlene Ottey 21.64) and 5th fastest woman of all-time with her 21.66 run.

Americans Florence Griffith Joyner (21.34) and Marion Jones (21.62) and Dafne Schippers of Netherlands, who out dipped Thompson to take the gold in a champion record 21.63, are the ones to run faster.
