UWI’s Mona Campus will host this year’s biennial inter-campus championships, called the UWI Games between May 21 to 30.
At this morning launch, held at the Principal’s boardroom, it was disclosed that over 400 athletes from three main UWI Campuses, Mona, Cave Hill in Barbados and St. Augustine in Trinidad, will face-off in 10 sports, netball, cricket, football, track & field, volleyball, lawn tennis, hockey, swimming and basketball.
Hansle Parchment, the Olympic Games 110m hurdles bronze medallist, and Jason Young, the fourth fastest Jamaican over 200m, will be this year’s patrons of the games.
