Howard Aris — President of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) thanked Supreme Ventures for their continued support of the championships over the years.

He also said, unlike USA rules which stipulate all athletes must complete (at US trials) in order to take up their IAAF byes, for Jamaica’s defending world champions – Usain Bolt, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Melaine Walker and Brigitte Foster-Hylton – they have already booked their places and doesn’t have to compete at the trials.
