Jamaica’s middle distance runner, Ricardo Cunningham, is free to resume his track and field career, which was halted by a positive test at last year’s national championships.

Cunningham, who trains with MVP Track Club, tested positive last June for pseudo-ephedrine.

The disciplinary panel, which comprised of former director of public prosecution Kent Pantry as chairman, along with Dr. Japhet Ford, attorney-at-law Lennox Gayle and 1992 double Olympic silver medallist Juliet Cuthbert, after hearing Cunningham’s case, decided on a reprimand.

Pantry, who read out the findings, said: “the decision of the panel is a reprimand for having the substance in his body … the panel considered that is a serious matter, but base on the evidence given we decided on a reprimand as per the rules.”
