WATCH: Jamaican WW2 Hero in the UK is the Second Oldest Commonwealth Baton Bearer
A 98-year-old Jamaican-born war veteran, Albert Jarrett, carried the Queen’s baton through Fordbridge for the Commonwealth Games. He becomes the second oldest Commonwealth baton bearer. Jarrett lives in Birmingham and was born in Jamaica in 1924. He joined the Royal Air Force (RAF) at just 17. He served the RAF throughout the second world war.
