How to make authentic Jamaican Ackee & Saltfish. Ackee and salt fish is a traditional Jamaican dish, known as Jamaica’s national dish. The ackee fruit was imported to Jamaica from West Africa before 178. It is also known as Blighia sapida.

This dish contains some of the following ingredients.

2 packs of Saltfish (dried, salted codfish)
2 (drained) can of tinned ackee
3 large onions
black pepper (a little here and there)
extra virgin olive oil (a little here and there)
Scotch Bonnet Peppers (use at you own discretion)
Bacon
Scallion
Tomatoes
Thyme
