Digicel launches High School Grand Prix Series

Telecommunication company Digicel, on 4 February 2015, launched it’s High School Track and Field Grand Prix Series, which will see two schools taking home $1 million dollar worth of equipment.

Six Development Meets, Corporate Area “Champs”, Camperdown Classic, Youngster Goldsmith Meet, Western Champs and Central Champs were selected from which athletes with the best times and distances will faceoff in the Grand Prix final.

The Grand Prix final, which will be held during the GC Foster College Classic on March 14, will have the top four athletes from Surrey (Corporate Area) while Cornwall (Western Champs) and Middlesex (Eastern Champs) will provide two each for the field of eight.

The events to be contested are 100m, 200m, 400m, discus, long jump, 800m, and 4x400m in girls Under-16 and U19 along with boys Under-19 and Under17.
