The Ultimate Jamaican Festivals Recipe.

In this recipe I’ll show you how to make the classic Jamaican fried dumplings called festivals. With a lovely crust on the exterior from frying and a sweet and chewy interior these Jamaican festivals are an excellent side dish with Caribbean meals. They are excellent as part of the traditional Jamaican breakfast, as a side for jerk dishes and works well when served with seafood as well. On it’s own these Jamaican festivals are a great vegetarian side dish as well (treated as a bread).

You’ll Need…

1 1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons cornmeal
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
