Traditional Caribbean Sorrel Drink.

A quick recipe for making one of the most traditional Christmas drinks in the Caribbean, sorrel. Traditionally sorrel is made around the holiday season as that’s when the flowers are usually matured enough for making the drink.

1 lb sorrel flowers (trimmed)
8 cups water
1 cinnamon stick
2 pieces of dried orange peel
4 cloves
thick slice of ginger
sugar to sweeten

You can add more sorrel flowers if you want a more concentrated drink and if you’d like to spike this drink.. add some rum.
