Team Jamaica Bickle comprises some 400 Jamaican athletes, staff and delegates, and all of them will be staying in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, for the duration of the Penn Relays competition. The team’s stay in the county will have an economic impact totaling $726,754, as110,000 spectators are expected to attend the Penn Relays. The team received an enthusiastic welcome from the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, which said it was “proud and excited” to host the group. The Jamaicans will stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Philadelphia-Valley Forge from April 26 through May 1, 2016. Team Jamaica is slated to compete in several events, including shot-put, high jump, triple jump, discus, javelin, medley, and the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, and 4×800 meter races. A number of local Pennsylvania teams will also be competing at the Relays.
