A Fashion affair Inc. presented its loyal Atlanta guests with a celebration of culture & independence in fashion. This year’s show was a tribute to Jamaica’s independence and our culture with a collective of fashion focused on Caribbean culture and heritage from Africa, European and Asian ancestry.
Designers such as Uzuri International, Pablo Palair, Shades of Africa, Tk designs couture, Di-O Original wearable Art, and J. Pratt footwear (to name a few) graced this year’s runway.
Dresses are now all the rage in the parts of the Caribbean. Print and pattern were also the order of the day with swirls, flowers, stripes and abstracts on loose fitting garments. Jamaicans design masters Uzuri boldly stacked different African prints into tiered tent dresses. The designs certainly retreat from the traditional greys and navys of fall.
I’m certainly looking forward to the coming years and whats to come.
