Day 115 of 365 Things to Do, See & Eat in Jamaica – Volunteer Your Time and Help a Community

Volunteering your time offers the chance to make real connections with people of different cultures and backgrounds. Volunteer opportunities can be found through official organizations, but often word-of-mouth is the best way to find them. Higholborn Street Basic School is located in Kingston and is an elementary school serving children between the ages of 3 and 6. The children enjoy meeting people from other countries, who can spend time with them in activities like playing games or reading. Another worthwhile volunteer option is the Golden Age Home, which provides care to the elderly. Located in Trenchtown, between 5 and 6 people reside here. Volunteering can be a real learning experience that will enhance your visit to Jamaica.

In case you missed any of the past “365 Things to Do, See and Eat in Jamaica“, here they are all together.
